Who Is Motioneer?
Motioneer is a boutique production company that creates cinematic storytelling with a point of view.

JR Reid is a director & editor with over 25 years experience, recently launching Hands Editorial Lab to deliver more streamlined and value-driven solutions in an ever changing landscape.
Cutting his teeth editing with VHS decks and literally cutting film, he then worked at the multiple Clio-winning Cossette, followed by a five-year stint at Tantrum Studio.
After hours JR spent his time crafting dozens of music videos for local indie rockers and hip hop artists alike, then started making short cinematic documentaries about hair salons and maple syrup. Those evolved into a series that became the festival darling Make Love.
His film Skyline premiered at Hot Docs, while others have screened at Sonoma, CFC’s Worldwide Short Film Festival, and most notably had his films screened for a record 5 consecutive years at Devour! The Food Film Festival.
JR’s directed & edited national campaigns for No Frills, OLG, Moosehead and Auto Trader, released a 4-part documentary series on food waste for the PC Insiders Project, and recently launched a new YouTube series called OPEN, shot entirely on Super 8 film.
